Kyriakos G. Dermatis was born in 1947 in Neapolis Voion Lakonias-Greece and has spent his entire career in shipping where he has gained a wealth of knowledge in Shipmanagement, brokering in sale and purchase, chartering and newbuildings of commercial vessels along with an extensive experience in all related shipping activities.
He is a Marine Officer, holds a BSc in Economics from the University of Piraeus, a Diploma in shipping from The London School of Foreign Trade, a Post Graduate Diploma in Port and Shipping Administration from University of Cardiff and an MSc in Maritime Studies from the University of Cardiff (Wales). After holding various senior positions within other ship owning companies, he founded Intermodal Shipbrokers Co. in 1984.
Kyriakos Dermatis and his family are still the main shareholders and active members of Intermodal Group and Interyards. His business focus is and always has been in Shipping.
Kyriakos Dermatis remains an active board member of the Hellenic Shipbrokers Association, a member of Sale and Purchase Committee and a member of the Mediterranean Committee of China Classification Society. He served as non-executive director for two years for the US stock listed Shipping Company “Seanergy”.
